Adult Humans in particular have an uncanny ability to ignore anything that doesn't fit with their preconceived notions about how the world works-meaning that oftentimes it is younger children who have an ability to see through magical glamours and tricks that would fool most any adult. Some people on every level are aware of the supernatural, but most would simply be laughed off if they tried to reveal the truth to the outside world. However, when it comes to people with higher ranks (ie, national level actors-like the President), it is an open secret. Most ordinary humans are locked out of the loop of the supernatural- both for the protection of some of those supernatural agents themselves (Witch hunts, anyone?), and because they are more easily able to manipulate humanity from the shadows.
